FURTHER
LO news
Columbus,Ohio thrash metallers Further Lo have
announced the addition of guitarist Donnie Davis
to the group's ranks. "His awesome solid rhythm playing
and solos convinced us that he is the man for the job!"
the band writes in a statement. The groups adds, "Donnie
was one of the original members of the band and is very
exited to be rejoining Further Lo. The excitement
is mutual and we are looking forward to completing the
lineup and going on the road."
The band is now scheduling some dates and exploring tour
options and packages. Contact the band or it's management
if you may be interested in working with Further Lo at
the band's Myspace site or by contacting souldestruction@hotmail.com.
Further Lo recently parted ways with Ryan Coyer
(guitar) due to "personal reasons." Further Lo wishes
Ryan the very best and we know he will be in another great
project very soon.
Further Lo's new CD, 'Unresolved', is due
to be released late 2007 via Power Play Records so keep
a look out and stop by the band's Myspace site and check
out the brand new single "Catch Hell" and
the video for it.

LO has replaced guitarist Donnie Davis with
Ryan Coyer (formerly of Millenia)
-
FURTHER
LO is back in the studio working on their follow
up to their 2004 release "Further Lo". "This CD
is a bit of a departure from the last CD, it is a little
darker and a little faster than the last one. I think
that it gives a little more accurate picture of what the
band is all about. The last CD was fun, but on this one
we got back to writing the heavier stuff. Our new Guitarist
Ryan Coyer (formerly of Millenia) really brings a heavier
edge to the band and I think that it will show on the
new stuff" said Turk speaking on the new material. "We
will be all over the place promoting and playing, this
CD has very strong material and we would like to put it
in as many ears as possible. We have a new guitarist,
a great producer & a whole new attitude going into this."
Says Turk. The CD " Conflict On All Fronts" is scheduled
for release in late spring of 2006 through Power Play
Records.
Some songs tentatively slated for the album are:
- 01.
Scars
- 02.
Catch Hell
- 03.
Peacemaker
- 04.
Bi- polar
- 05.
Relative to Negativity
- 06.
Watching you Fall
- 07.
Severed
- 08.
Lifeless
- 09.
Unresolved
- 10.
Culture War

April
2005...
April
Fools (in more way than one)
We played one of the best shows that we have played in a long
time last Friday at the Blue Cat in Bellefontaine,
OH when we thought that we were gong to be opening for
Single Bullet Theory and Into Eternity. Unfortunately,
Neither band showed and local metallers Somber were
stuck finishing out the night after our set. They pulled it
off but upon further investigation it seems that the show
had been cancelled for a while due to the tour being cancelled
(At least that’s what I’m getting out of this) . So there
are several way to acknowledge the April fools routine...
for one, the band didn’t show up and I don’t think anyone
got their money back, and two, we got drunk with all of our
friends and all acted like a bunch of fools. Regardless, we
had a killer show and all the boys from Crush Efekt,
the COAST, In Defiance and Acention showed
up to party with us that night and made the evening for us.
Everyone got shitty drunk (Mike Lare of CE and
THE COAST passed out early) and I have some great pictures
of the party to develop. I will post them ASAP. I do have
a couple courtesy of Pete from the COAST concerning
Jesse and Mark from CE, but I’d feel
bad if I published them. >=0) We survived! We all knew that
it would be ugly, and the weekend of March 18th & 19th at
the Westgate Lounge with the COAST and
Crush Efekt did not disappoint. We drank all of the
Killian’s Irish Red and went through at LEAST 6 bottles of
Jagermiester. I’ll fill you in on what I remember... After
buying the boys from the COAST a shot of Jager, the
night went along with out incident until I remember charging
the back of the room where the CE and COAST boys were having
a chair mosh pit and knocking over pretty much everyone. I’m
convinced the the way to win a bar brawl is not to throw a
punch but to do a Tommy “Wildfire” Rick cross body
block. The next day Lare from CE told me that he and Pete
from the COAST ( who by the way stands about 6'4" and weighs
in excess of 250lbs that they felt like they had been in a
fight and lost.... bitches.... The next day I hear reports
of Mark Evans from CE licking whipped cream off the wall at
the Waffle House from Randy... ewwwwwwwwwww...... There were
also reports of a discussion to take the electronic dartboard
out into the parking lot for a game fro no particular reason.
I remember Mike Lare (CE, COAST) attempting a cross body block
on me and falling straight down like he’d run into a brick
wall. Lare got up with his side cover band and played a few
songs while screaming AC/DC at the top of his lungs.
And by the end of the night Lare was having people hit him
in the head ala the WWE with Jesse’s effects rack cover like
it was a steel chair. (Anyone seeing a pattern developing?)
I wish that I had a light on my video camera so I could have
gotten video of it. It was nothing short of classic. The moral
of this story as Mr Mackey from South Park would say... “Uh
kids, drugs are bad, nkay, you shouldn’t do drugs... nkay?
New venue!
We will be playing at Rascals on the West
Side for the first time on April 16th with Elvis in
Chains and we need everyone’s support on this one! We’ve
never played there and we are looking forward to it! The venue
is sizeable with a nice big stage, and a couple of pool tables
so everyone come on out and let’s show ‘em how the FL crowd
drinks! Bluegrass gets cut Our trip to Frankfort, KY has been
postponed to a later date as head liners Society Child
will be entering the studio in a few weeks.
Work for New Album Continues
We are diligently working on new material for their as of
yet unnamed second Power Play Records album. As of
this writing, we have about 13 new songs ready and will continue
writing up until at least the end of the year. No word as
to a tentative recording and release date for the new CD.
Film me! Film me! We are still working with the management
at Power Play Records to gather video footage of the band
during performances, interviews, or general mischief for possible
promotional and / or home videos. Any and all are invited
to bring camcorders out to the band’s gigs and will of course
be given credit for any footage used in anything. Footage
need not be regulated to current Further Lo footage. Any pictures
video or otherwise of the band members (even from former bands)
are welcome. The preferred format to use when filming is mini
DV tape, but all are welcome. New Merchandise is coming New
2-sided T-shirts are in and available at shows and on the
Power Play website. Pictures and descriptions will be available
soon at www.furtherlo.com
and www.powerplayrecords.com.
There are plans to bring back black Further Lo beanies that
everyone has been asking us about just in time for warm weather...
duh. Stay tuned for more details.
Thanks for reading everyone! See you next time!

March
2005... Hey everybody! Singer, Aaron Werner here with a Further
Lo update!
Upcoming dates: Fri &Sat March 18th & 19th at
the Westgate Lounge in Columbus, OH w/ The C.O.A.S.T. & Crush
Efekt
We had a great time in Frankfort, KY a month ago with
Society Child at Brick Alley! Everyone
got stinking drunk (big news there) enough to prompt the bar
owner to make the somewhat obvious but still funny observation
that we as a band “like to drink a lot” as the Jagermeister
flowed like water. Randy is quoted as saying: “Once the owner
told me that Jager-shots were $3.00, it was all over”. The
stage was an adventure all in itself as it was more like a fun-house
floor. You couldn’t really step anywhere for fear of losing
your balance, but we made the best of it. The show went well
even though I (much to Donnie’s chagrin) approved of the monitor
mix when there weren’t any to be had! (Thing is, I wear earplugs
on stage so I have a built in monitor in my head with them in,
and couldn’t tell you if the monitors are on or off.) Our set
ended at 11:30 and I’ll go on record by saying that by 11:45
Ron didn’t have a clue what his name was. These are the memories
that we will cherish forever... I got up with the boys from
Society Child and sang “Head Like a Hole” by
Nine Inch Nails and “Love Gun” from KISS.
Many boobies were bared by the local ladies, and we had no problem
looking at them thank you very much. Randy worked his usual
charm and was able to scrounge us up like three hotel rooms
for the price of one! Donnie confiscated somebody’s bottle of
Southern Comfort back at the hotel which again reinforces the
notion that this band has a drinking problem. In the end no
one pulled a “Bon Scott”, so that means that we are still ahead
of the game.
Speaking of games, NO, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl...
No Steelers, NO INTEREST! We are looking into returning to the
Bluegrass state around April, so keep your eyes peeled and your
ears to the ground!
No Northern Trip The trip to Traverse City, Michigan was unfortunately
cancelled due to conflicting booking issues with the club and
bands, but we are working on making a make-up trip this spring
/ summer. This Could (and Most Likely WILL) Get out of Hand
*(Said in a bad impression of an Irish accent)* Aye lads and
lassies! Ya know that it’s the St Patrick’s Day celebration
coming up on March 17th do ya now? Well, do ya also know that
we will be ‘a playing at our favorite Columbus stomping ground
and watering hole the following weekend now? (Why is everything
with Irish people a damn question?) Anyway, we will be making
our triumphant return the Westgate the Friday
and Saturday after the Thursday St. Patrick’s day. Slated for
the bill are Columbus metal veterans Crush Efekt and
the all-star metal project the C.O.A.S.T. (Columbus
Ohio All-Star Terrorists, I think that stands for) which
features CE bassist Mike Lare and former Apathy
axe-slinger Pete Rensch. So basically what we’ve got
here is a holiday made for boozing, at the coolest bar on the
west side if not the whole damn town, and three of the hardest
drinking metal bands in all of Columbus. You do the math...
oh, and bring a camera, you’ll make money that night on the
footage you capture I’m sure. Speaking of which... Video Hopes
We are working with the management at Power Play Records to
gather video footage of the band during performances, interviews,
or general mischief for possible promotional and / or home videos.
Any and all are invited to bring camcorders out to the band’s
gigs and will of course be given credit for any footage used
in anything. Footage need not be regulated to current Further
Lo footage. Any pictures video or otherwise of the band members
(even from former bands) are welcome. The preferred format to
use when filming is mini DV tape, but all are welcome. I’m telling
you folks, you can be a part of history (or at least part of
making us realize how much of a drinking problem we all have)
if you’ll just bring you cameras out!
Work for New Album Continues. We are still working on new material
for the new album all the time. As of now we have about 13 songs
written and are working on a new one currently. We hope to enter
the studio at recording time with at least 15 solid songs to
pick and choose from.
New Merchandise is coming... New 2-sided T-shirts are
in and available at shows and on the Power Play website. Pictures
and descriptions will be available soon at www.furtherlo.com
and www.powerplayrecords.com.
