Last year I had the chance to hear the debut self financed album from Agankast, the personal band from Rob Matthew (former Atomkraft guitarist). Now after a year the band strikes back with their sophomore album with the title "Welcome to Insanitarium".

In this album Agankast included eight tracks and more than forty minutes of pure heavy / thrash metal in the vein of the 80's. From the opening track the band unleashed their aggressive and raw sound through our speakers and believe me you will be surprised by their musicianship and their dedication to the old days.

Maybe some of you won't like this, because Agankast had chosen to follow their personal way of thrash metal without modern elements inside their music. I can say that personally I expected to hear some of them but also I like the path that Agankast had decided to follow.

All in all, "Welcome to Insanitarium" is an honest album, played straight from their hearts with well written compositions, some very interesting ideas and above all, ladies and gentlemen here we have thrash fuckin' metal.

SCORE out of 8.2/10 Antonis Maglaras
