Artesia
comes from France and "L'aube
morne" is their debut demo CD which includes
five tracks. The band consists of two women, whose music direction
is to bring a melancholic atmosphere to the Goth music section.
Because they come from France they remind me a lot the other
great band with the name Dark Sanctuary,
they have more metal sound than the Artesia
but they are in the same direction. The majestic keyboards
are the trademark of Artesia's
sound and of course the violin. Artesia
have the sorrow of My Dying Bride
but with female clean and operatic vocals. Here don't expect
to hear heavy guitars or fast drums, Artesia
make a great work with only keyboards, violin and Clavier.
The compositions are well worked with great ideas if you like
the music style that they have chosen to follow. All in all
if you want to hear melancholic music, with a dark atmosphere
and great keyboards you can check the stuff from Artesia,
i will wait their next step, which i believe will be great.
