Five
years ago, i received a wonderful demo from a Greek band with
the name Emerald. I was impressed by their musicianship
and their ideas which they had included in their music. Back
then it was one of the best demos i had ever received to date.
For the next five years i had lost the paths of this band
and suddenly just a few days ago they sent me their debut
album with the title "Images from a Perfect Passion".
In
this album the band included nine tracks and almost fifty
minutes of pure melodic atmospheric music. The band worked
for almost a year in order to write this album in an effort
to get the best possible result. At least all their efforts
weren't in vain. The album is a very good piece of music,
even if we don't follow the metal paths.
Through
these nine songs the band had three instrumental ones written
by Elina, who is the responsible for all the almost
perfect keyboards that we hear in the whole album. Emerald
also used dual vocals both male and female, with the female
vocals being the clean ones. Personally i expected a better
sound of the vocals in the final mix, because i think they
are "behind" from some instruments.
If
you are an open minded listener of music and you want to hear
something very good, you can go to the website of Emerald
and buy their album in a very good digi-pack edition. Maybe
they could have included a booklet with the digi-pak, but
this is just my personal opinion.
