We
don't receive so often works from Singapore, so when i saw
the country that Empyrean comes, i was really curious
to hear their stuff. "Shadows of a Dream"
is their latest demo CD which includes four tracks and more
than twenty minutes of pure melodic death metal in the vein
of Opeth. Their compositions are well worked
with interesting ideas and they have some really nice changes
inside their songs with a lot of melodies but in the same
time they have brutal vocals. Generally the band has a lot
of changes so you never expected what you will hear next,
because they have long compositions, most of the songs are
from six to seven minutes. Last but not least, their production
and the sound is really good and you can hear clearly all
the instruments. I will wait for them their next step to see
how they will have mature with their music.
