From the first minutes of the opening track from the debut album of Ephemeral Sun, i knew it that i would hadn't an easy afternoon. Let me explain to you why i say this. First of all EPHEMERAL SUN comes from United States and "Broken Door" is their debut self financed album in which the band includes twelve songs and a total duration of more than seventy minutes. This album released last year, but honestly i don't know how it reach me before some days. Anyway, to the music now which is the most important thing, EPHEMERAL SUN combines basically two metal genres, progressive and gothic. Just to have a small picture in your mind, imagine a more progressive edition of the first days of Within Temptation. So a mixture of gothic / doom metal with a lot of progressive arrangements and you will have the fantastic music from EPHEMERAL SUN. Their compositions are well worked with incredible ideas and great guitar and keyboard solos. Generally the stuff from EPHEMERAL SUN isn't the easiest album to hear but if you enter in the world of EPHEMERAL SUN then you will have a great time while you hear their album and believe me you can count on them. Give to them your free time and you will have a free tour to the wonderful world of EPHEMERAL SUN. I haven't more words to say about this album, the only thing is that i really waiting for their next step.

SCORE out of 9.3/10 Antonis Maglaras
