I
am really happy when i see that the Greek metal scene becomes
more and more big every day. Ethereal Status sends
to us their latest demo CD which has four tracks and more
than twenty minutes of pure progressive music. The opening
track is an instrumental one and i think maybe it isn't the
best in order to open this demo or because the band is a progressive
metal band an almost seven minutes instrumental track with
a lot of changes is a very good choice to open this release.
It is always difficult to "judge" a progressive
release if you aren't a musician but something you can write
for them. For example i expected a better production and sound
from them because in the music section all the members gives
more than their 100% of their abilities and their compositions
are well worked with interesting ideas. Definitely the stuff
from Ethereal Status gives the perfect description
of the progressive music, with a lot of changes and many experiments
during the songs. Last but not least i want to ask the band
if they want to be a progressive band for some specific listeners
or to be a little bit more mainstream but to remain progressive.
Because their songs aren't easy to hear them and you must
pay a lot of attention in order to "understand"
the project from Etheral Status. Very good try and
i hope we will hear from them in the near future.
