Before two years, imagine that back in 2002 i was in middle of my studies at the university and now with the new self financed album i have finished my studies. Juglans Regia comes from Italy and so far they have a twelve years history with five demo releases and two albums. Honestly, i don't remember their debut album now but i will focus to their newest one which has the title "Controluce". In this album you will find six tracks and more than thirty five minutes of great music. Juglans Regia as you can imagine from the titles of their songs, sings in their mother language as they did it from their beginning of their career. I am not against this movement, instead i support the bands that have lyrics in their mother tongue, but i want to find somewhere the translation and i expected to read for example the translation in the booklet. Now in the music section of Juglans Regia we have a mixture of progressive rock and metal music, sometimes the band have more metal elements in their songs and some times you hear a more progressive approach from them. I don't know if this happened but while i hear their album i feel that the band has a dark atmosphere in the whole album. Anyway maybe it was just my impression, but i feel it every time that i hear their stuff. Juglans Regia just give their hearts and their soul in this album, you can feel it if you pay attention while you hear their music. Maybe isn't the easiest music to hear, but if you understand their project then you will have a great trip to the music labyrinth of Juglans Regia. Also don't forget that the band sell this album with only 5 euros (p&p included) so where ever you are you will buy this album with only five euros or dollars, just e-mail Max, the bass player to get more infos.

SCORE out of 8.6/10 Antonis Maglaras
