I
used to receive mostly extreme releases from France, so when
I received the new album from Leiden, I was really
curious to hear their personal vision of gothic metal.
"Dualite"
is their second album which includes eleven tracks and more
than fifty five minutes of their music. It has some typical
elements from the gothic metal scene like the dual extreme
male and female vocals but it also has some personal touches
too.
Don't
forget that Leiden used two languages - seven songs
have lyrics in English and four songs lyrics in their mother
language, a thing which gives another vision to the music
from Leiden.
Their
compositions are well written with some very interesting ideas
and when it fits the music, Leiden is a little bit
more extreme and at other times more melodic.
Last
but not least I would like to add that Leiden has shared
the stage with bands like: Atrocity, Leave's
Eyes, After Forever, Amaran,
Anorexia Nervosa and many more. Definitely
a very impressive release for the fans of gothic metal.
