Back in 2001 a German band with the name Logar's Diary, sent me their debut self financed album. Five years passed and finally the band released through Metal Fortress their second album with the title "Book II: Parlainth The Forgotten City". The band walks in the Euro power metal paths with a lot of elements from the fantasy, especial in the lyrics section. Actually the band had written a whole story and they paid a lot of their attention in this part of their creation too.

We mustn't forget that their first self financed CD sold over 1500 copies and this gives us the impression that the band has a strong base of fans and at least they have released a very good album. I believe their newest step is even better because now the band has a real drummer and they are more mature in their music direction.

Their compositions are well worked with some very interesting ideas and definitely you will hear some Blind Guardian touches spotted in the whole album. Another highlight from this album is that it was re-mastered in 2005 by Andreas Hilbert from the well known death metal band Golem.

Last but not least, i must say one more time that Logar's Diary impressed me with their very good and hard work in this album. I am sure that this band will have a great future if they continue like this and have a logical progression to their music.

SCORE out of 8.9/10 Antonis Maglaras
