"Riff
Metal"? What is that? Actually this is the two words
that Mithril use to describe their music. The band
comes from Germany and "Dare the Heavens"
is their latest release. In this demo CD you will have the
chance to find four tracks and fifteen minutes of pure heavy
metal music. Definitely when i begin to listen to their stuff,
i never expected it to be so good. What we have here? Imagine
a mixture of Primal Fear, Iced Earth
(early days) and Nevermore with the personal
sound of Mithril and you will have what you will hear
in "Dare the Heavens". Four well worked compositions
with very interesting ideas and a band that knows what they
want from their music. I am sure that every fan of Heavy metal
will adore the stuff from Mithril. Also the band has
a big variety for elements in this album, so from the very
good opening track, we have more let's say epic metal tune
"Iron Mask" and the very melodic "Almost
the Same" a track that closes this release. So personally
i liked three from the four tracks of this release and i hope
soon the band will record their full length album. Well done
guys.
