Old
Season is a band that comes from Ireland and early this
year they released their debut album "Volume One"
through Alderwood records. I had the chance to see
them live in Greece as a support act of Blitzkrieg.
The
first thing that impressed me about Old Season, was
the fact that they included various elements from metal inside
their songs and they can always transform them with their
personal touch.
So,
generally, we can say that Old Season is a heavy metal
band, but this is only a small label and you can't actually
accurately describe their music. While you listen to their
debut album, you will find elements from heavy metal, epic
metal, folk music and doom metal.
If
you want to have a small picture in your mind, imagine a band
with influences from Judas Priest, Iron
Maiden, Manowar and Candlemass
with their personal touch and then you will have something
in your mind for the music direction of Old Season.
It
is needless to say that their compositions are more than well
written full of interesting ideas and above all the heart
of Old Season. Now they prepare their next step and
I will be more than happy to hear it because I am sure it
will be a diamond for the metal scene.
