I
think this month, is the month of surprise, because a few
days ago I received the latest album from Paine's Promise,
a band who comes from the United States and again they follow
a different music path than usual.
Paine's
Promise is a power trio, who deliver their personal view
through their latest album of progressive metal music. "Mobius"
is the title of this album; we can find ten tracks and about
fifty minutes of this progressive world of Paine's Promise.
The
thing that I adore in most progressive acts is the fact that
they have a variety of influences. For with Paine's Promise,
we start from jazz music and we reach System of a Down.
But
their main influence is Rush and definitely
they have a lot of elements from Rush in their
music. They have made a step forward and they have included
their personal sound, plus this band has a female singer.
Their
compositions are really well written with some very impressive
ideas and as most of the progressive acts and releases you
need some time in order to understand this album too.
