Having
already a self financed album Ritus, who are coming
from Germany, released this EP with four tracks as a taste
from their forthcoming second album. This EP released before
three months and as the band informed as is limited to 300
copies. Musically Ritus combines various metal genres
but their main influences come from doom and death metal but
also you can find some black metal elements especially in
the vocals. Despite that the vocals are mainly death metal
ones. Besides the doom / death metal the band include some
really interesting additions of keyboards and this gives a
more melodic touch to the whole result. If you combine infuences
from My Dying Bride, Tiamat and
Bolt Thrower then you will have an idea for
the stuff of Ritus. I am really happy that i have the
opportunity to hear this great stuff from Ritus, even
if they didn't make a new metal genre for example but they
play from their hearts and you can feel it while you hear
their tracks. Maybe because i am a fan of My Dying Bride
and Bolt Thrower too, by the way we will waiting
for their newest album in November, Ritus made a great
combination and i'm eager to hear their second album when
it will be ready.
