Shadows Land started as a band almost eleven years ago but "Terminus Ante Quem" is only their second album, which was released a few days ago through Osmose Productions. The band had included nine tracks and only half an hour of music.

If you follow the career of Shadows Land you will see that in every release, from the demo days to their albums, they have made progress with their musical direction. So even if they started as a death / doom band back in 1995, now they have reached the black / death metal level with a lot elements from electronic music.

Of course this at least shows me that the members of the band, don't follow the same path in every release. They want to find new paths for their music and they aren't afraid to change their music direction.

So now the band has decided to keep the black metal roots in their music and they have add some more modern electronic elements in their well written compositions. Personally I expected to hear a little bit more music than the half hour.

On the other hand maybe it is better, because when you reach the last song, you will definitely push the repeat button in order to hear it again.

SCORE out of 8.2/10 Antonis Maglaras
