More
and more bands become to choose the path from Cruachan,
this month i received two new releases from Pagan metal bands.
The first was the debut album from Heol Tewlen,
which i believe is a diamond and will be released this September
through Burning Star Records and the second
is the re-release of the debut demo tape from Skyforger,
a band from Latvia. In this re-release from Folter Records
the band enter the studio in order to record a special EP
in order to have four bonus tracks only for this release.
Also Skyforger has completely re-mastered the whole
demo and the sound and the production is really good and you
can hear all the instruments. So as the most Pagan Metal groups,
Skyforger combines folk music from Latvia with Black
metal music and we have the great result that you can hear
it in this album. Also the band has used a lot of folk instruments
and we have a great atmosphere. Skyforger have some
interesting ideas inside their songs and their compositions
are well worked with all the things that you want to hear
from an above average band. I wonder why these guys aren't
in a bigger label in order to have a better promotion and
generally to have more help. Any way, if you believe that
you like Pagan Metal, don't miss the stuff from Skyforger.
SCORE
