Veil
is a new Greek metal band, they formed back in 2003 and
so far this is their debut demo CD with the title "Forest
Oblivion". Also they have played a live show in their
hometown before some months and during the spring they record
this demo. This release begins with a "strange"
intro which personally i didn't like it. I like more the first
minute from the second track. Maybe the band wants to have
a different intro than the usual and if they choose this root
i think they make it. Musically the band has made a combination
of death and doom metal elements, imagine the music from My
Dying Bride and then you will have a small picture
of the stuff from Veil. Because i like this kind of
metal i adore hearing new bands to perform music like this
and when i hear the stuff from Veil i see that it is
a band with a lot of potential and if they will continue to
work hard maybe they can do something in the local metal scene.
I know that it is difficult to have a lot of rehearsals when
all the members live in different towns but i think the passion
of the music will overtake everything. Besides that their
compositions are well worked with interesting ideas and as
usual the keyboards give a very nice atmosphere to the whole
result.
