First
of all, I was impressed by the cover of this release - dragon,
sword, skulls and a title that reminds me of the good old
days from Running Wild (only for the theme).
Because now a band from Canada chose to have a pirate theme
in their lyrics with their latest self financed album.
Verbal
Deception "Aurum Aetus Piraticus" includes eleven
songs and almost fifty minutes of pure heavy metal with some
elements from other kinds of metal.
I
mean that Verbal Deception incorporated many influences
into their music, so while we hear heavy metal music with
extreme vocals, we have some folk passages and few touches
from progressive music too.
Their
compositions very well developed with some very impressive
ideas, and I can say that Verbal Deception did a great
job with their whole album, from the music, to the production,
to the artwork of the booklet.
Last
but not least, you can see easily that these guys have a professional
approach to their music and I believe that sooner or later
they will find their way to the mainstream metal scene.
